2024 Tastemaker of the Year

Anne Cusser

Anne Cusser

One of our inaugural class of Tastemakers at last year’s Brews & Bites (now Taste at The Place), Anne Cusser raised $8,613 for The Children’s Place to support children’s mental health.

Not only was Anne our top-raising Tastemaker, but she is also a dedicated member of our Angel Board who frequently steps up to help with any needs the agency may have.

Last year when our weekly food pantry volunteer took a step back, it was Anne who stepped up first to fill in the gap. Anne has been one of our most loyal volunteers, helping out many Thursdays in our food pantry, filling backpacks full of food to ensure that the children we serve have plenty of food to eat all weekend long when they are not at The Children’s Place.

She is also a passionate advocate helping to ensure that the food pantry shelves stay stocked. When she notices that our shelves are getting bare, she is quick to rally her network to ask for friends and family to donate food to the pantry.

When we announced the addition of the Tastemaker program to our Taste at The Place event, Anne was one of the first to step forward to help fundraise for The Children’s Place as a Tastemaker. She boldly acknowledged her competitive spirit early on and vowed that she would raise the most funds. Sure enough, Anne ended up raising more than $8,000 to ensure that the youngest in our community have access to healing mental health services.

“Anne is such an important person to The Children’s Place, a longtime member of our Angel Board and one of the first to step up when a need of any kind arises,” said Denton Williams, Special Events Manager. “We were so impressed—but not surprised!—at her dedication to her Tastemaker campaign last year, and the funds she raised have made it possible for so many children in our community to have access to the mental health services they need to heal.”

Anne will be recognized at the Gratitude Bruncheon on Thursday, June 6. Learn more about our other honorees who will be celebrated at the Gratitude Bruncheon here.
