Become a Tastemaker

Support The Children's Place by Joining the 2024 Class of Tastemakers

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back while connecting with other philanthropically-minded Kansas Citians? The Children’s Place is seeking individuals or duos to act as the faces of Taste at The Place (formerly Brews & Bites), our crowd-favorite, happy hour fundraising event. Taste at The Place brings together dozens of local food, drink, and craft vendors to help raise critical funds to support Kansas City’s specialized trauma treatment center for children. As a Tastemaker, you will get to lead the party, celebrate with friends and family, and make a major impact in the lives of children and families in Kansas City.

The Children's Place will provide Tastemakers with:

  • A marketing package complete with graphics and templates for social media posts and emails asking your networks to support your Tastemaker campaign with a donation or Brews & Bites ticket purchase
  • A pre-built peer-to-peer fundraising page
  • Opportunities to mingle with other local charitable movers & shakers
  • Engagement opportunities with The Children’s Place, including a fun volunteer experience interacting with the children we serve

Tastemakers will:

  • Set a $2,500 fundraising goal via their peer-to-peer fundraising page
  • Share information about Taste at The Place and fundraising to their networks
  • Attend a happy hour and marketing photoshoot at The Children’s Place on Thursday, July 11th from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Attend Taste at The Place on Thursday, September 12th from 5-8 p.m. and perform a 1-hour volunteer shift during the event as a special guest bartender or sample server

A Note on Fundraising:

Tastemakers will receive a pre-built peer-to-peer fundraising page. Each page will start with a fundraising goal of $2,500. The top fundraiser will be recognized at Taste at The Place and will receive a prize! Anyone who donates $100 or more to a Tastemaker’s campaign can claim a free ticket to Taste at The Place.
