Supporting Caregivers Like Terri
If my experience helps just one other family, it’s worth me sharing. I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in now without The Children’s Place and everybody who works there. I became a mother overnight at age 53 when our first son came to live with us, then our Kingston came when he was just two days old.
It hasn’t always been easy on this journey, but The Children’s Place is truly my village. Everybody at The Children’s Place has shown me that I can believe in myself and my family.
Through caregiver groups, the Family Support Services program and, of course, Kingston’s time in the Day Treatment program, The Children’s Place has helped me significantly and helped me realize that I have what it takes to be a mom.
