Distribution By Air
The smiles on the children’s faces are unforgettable as they run onto the playground and see dozens of pumpkins and almost as many giant inflatable decorations. Distribution By Air, our 2023 honoree for Corporate Champions of Philanthropy, has been hosting our annual pumpkin patch event for the children in our Day Treatment program for more than 20 years.
“We support The Children’s Place because we believe in the mission of helping children and families heal from trauma,” the Distribution By Air team told us. “We believe in the amazing staff who work compassionately and tirelessly with families in need. And most importantly, we work with The Children’s Place because of the tangible help provided – and received by children and families in our community.”
Each fall, Distribution By Air brings in a team of people and all the supplies needed to create a pumpkin patch on site to bring this fun fall tradition directly to the children of The Children’s Place. They deliver enough pumpkins for each child to pick one, along with fun fall decorations to create a memorable October day.
Beyond this annual event, Distribution By Air has been a loyal supporter at so many other points throughout the year, leveraging their connections to help the agency fulfill our mission, including soliciting donations of fresh bread for our food pantry and recruiting additional sponsors for our annual Party for The Place event. Individual team members at Distribution by Air have also been volunteers for our Storytime at The Place volunteer program, reading to the children in our Day Treatment classrooms.
“Working with Kevin and his DBA team has been fun over the years,” said Sara Bland, Corporate & Individual Giving Manager. “The pumpkin patch is not just a day filled with happy children and Halloween fun but a day you can tell the entire DBA team looks forward to each year. The joy and excitement shine off each team member as they set up the pumpkins, the Halloween blow-ups, and the decorations! We are lucky to have such an amazing company that takes employee engagement to another level!”
