If you are aware of or suspect The Children’s Place or one of its employees has violated federal and/or state law or the agency’s organizational Code of Ethics you may submit your concern in any of the following ways.

  1. If you believe that an agency staff member has treated you in a discriminatory, unethical or illegal manner, please contact our President/CEO, Ann Thomas, at 816.363.1898 or by email at thomasa@childrensplacekc.org.

  2. If your complaint involves a senior leadership member, or you are uncomfortable contacting the President/CEO, you may email concerns@childrensplacekc.org. Your email will be forwarded automatically to a member of the Board of Directors Executive Committee.

  3. If you think a child has been abused or neglected here, please call one of the following Child Abuse Hotline phone numbers:

    Kansas: 1.800.922.5330

  4. If you think The Children’s Place’s quality or conditions of care are in violation of the standards of child care facilities in Missouri, you may call the Northwestern District Section for Child Care Regulation at 816.350.5450.

  5. If you have concerns about our client’s quality of care or safety, contact Joint Commission-Office of Quality Monitoring at 1.800.994.6610 or email complaint@jointcommission.org.

TITLE VI Compliance

The Children’s Place has a policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the ADA. The Children’s Place is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of its services on the basis of race, color or national origin as protected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. No person or group of persons shall be discriminated against with regard to the routing, scheduling, or quality of transportation service furnished by The Children’s Place on the basis of race, color, disability, gender identity or national origin. Any person who believes that they have, individually, or as a member of any specific class of persons, been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, disability, gender identity or national origin may file a complaint. A complaint must be filed within 180 days after the date of the alleged discrimination.
