Assistant Preschool Teacher

Description: The Children's Place Day Treatment Program is a therapeutic preschool program for children who have experienced abuse, neglect or other forms of trauma. All children exhibit varying degrees of developmental delays or social/emotional challenges. The Assistant Preschool Teacher is an integral part of a team that includes clinical therapists as well as occupational and speech specialists. This classroom serves children 3.5 to 6 years of age.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Teacher works as a team in concert with the Lead Teacher to provide a consistent, structured, nurturing and developmentally appropriate classroom setting with support from various therapeutic specialists. The individual selected will also participate in various meetings and staffings with parents/guardians and treatment specialists.

Qualifications: Minimum of a current CDA or A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education. A desire to directly impact the lives of young children and a willingness to work with behaviorally and developmentally challenged children. EOE
